Maria Popova di Brainpickings la scorsa settimana, in occasione del trentanovesimo anniversario dell’uscita di Planet Waves di Bob Dylan, si è ricordata di Forever Young, un albo illustrato da Paul Rogers, pubblicato nel 2008.
Il libro era stato chiesto a Rogers direttamente da Dylan per tradurre in immagini i versi di “Forever Young”: una delle sue canzoni più famose, simboliche e evocative, uno dei pezzi forti di Planet Waves, una canzone che Bob aveva dedicato al figlio Jacob (nato nel 1969 da Sara, prima moglie di Dylan).

I versi della canzone formano l’unico testo che appare nel libro, e, come ricorda Open Culture, che se n’è occupata la scorsa estate, le illustrazioni di Rogers sono la vera narrazione: la crescita di un giovane nella scena folk del Greenwich Village degli anni Sessanta. Il libro è disponibile sia stampato che in e-book.
